Then he vanishes. Just flat disappears. I've looked online, and apparantly there are many people wondering what happened to him. Can't say I've seen this often, where an artist releases an album as good as his debut album "The Way I Feel", gets critical acclaim, and then just retreats into seclusion.
For the last several years I'll occasionally look online for something, anything by Remy. Hoping to find a maxi single that has a bonus track or two, but there's really not much. It's like he made just enough songs for his album and an extra bonus track in Canada (where he's from) and that's it.
Today I lucked into finding a concert of Remy's that was posted online, of him performing in Milan Italy. Very nice show, albeit a little short for my liking.
The version I found online over at Bama Love Soul's blog was a single track, which you can download over at his blog by clicking HERE. And I was directed to that blog (which I had discovered a few months back) by the great and much needed "Where is Remy Shand" Twitter page. Feel free to follow them by clicking HERE.
I split the single track into individual tracks for each song, and tagged them properly in Itunes for importing to your Ipod or Zune or whatever MP3 player you might have.
You can download it below, where I've also included the setlist for this concert.
Enjoy, and let's hope this is a sign that there'll be more Remy Shand in the future!

I'm a fan of Remy...just think he's ahead of his time.
Would love to do a song with him.
I miss Remy to. I think he has a great talent and I miss him. I had forgotten how good his CD was until the other day when I heard Take A Message. It got me to wondering where is Remy. I saw him live at Park West here in Chicago when promoting his CD. He was Great. REMY WHERE ARE YOU? PLEASE COME BACK YOU ARE MISSED TERRIBLY.
I think he'll resurface at some point, but what do you say to people after being away for all this time? It must be pretty embarrassing for him I'm sure. Even if he didn't step behind the microphone again, I think he'd be an amazing producer for other artists.
Even if never got another record deal, with the following he has he could probably sell his own songs through I-tunes or something.
I read in another blog that he was about to get back to music, and then his mother, who he was very close to, passed away. Let's just hope he gets back to music in the near future, a decade is too long to wait!
There cannot be any prediction of how long the sadness of a beloved parent dying suddenly will affect even adult children . No time ever seems appropriate for the loss let alone the shock of a young parent's physical absence .
Hopefully the love that inspired both Mother and Son can survive this trauma to once again bring happiness to Remy and those he loves - to awaken the creativity and beauty of his memorable voice and music.
As a mother of 3 ,facing death 3 times in the past 16 years from cancer and MVA with impaired truck driver - I wonder - why ,how could this happen ? both the life threats and the life granting .My love and concern to R and Family...Fellow child of the Prairie and The Peg"
Love him too! Saw him in concert in Oakville, Ontario and he blew me away. His wife (at the time) was singing background vocals. They divorced a while back, and sometimes i wonder if that broke his heart to the point where he just wanted to re-group. Also, with his first album, he had total creative control. I'm wondering if his label was hard timing him about that when he was working on the second album. I think he's a very independent person and i have a feeling that giving up creative control was not something he was willing to do!
